Minnesota Nurses Association Director of Organizing
Karlton Scott is on the New Brookwood Board of Directors and is also the Director of Organizing at the Minnesota Nurses Association. Karlton was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from Purdue University in Indiana. He came from a family of healthcare professionals–his mom is a social worker; his brother is a physician in San Francisco; and his sister is a registered nurse in Chicago.
Before joining Minnesota Nurses Association, Karlton worked for another healthcare union where he organized U.S.-wide campaign efforts against some of the largest for-profit health systems in the world, including Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Community Health Systems (CHS). Karlton believes in the power of organized labor to advance the working class.
When not at New Brookwood or MNA, Karlton volunteers in the community and mentors youth in the Twin Cities from Big Brothers-Big Sisters.
